THE PURSER FAMILY

It is nice growing up with brothers - someone to lean on, someone to count on....someone to tell on!

No cavities here!

I have two Halloween jack-o-lanterns still full of candy. What about your house? To this day, Halloween for my kids is collecting the candy and treats from neighbors but they don't eat it. After a night of walking in their costumes around the neighborhood, they come home and dump out all of their candy. Kade will sit and count all of the chocolates so he can trade. Cole will admire how many treats he got, but it NEVER gets eaten! I remember getting pillow cases full. I would separate all of my candy into shoe boxes and store them under my bed. Kade and Cole just don't ask for candy. Owen, on the other hand, his second or third word was "treat." No cavities in my house yet...

Halloween was the perfect night! The weather couldn't have been better. We rode the spooky Halloween train in Lindon before trick-or-treating with the Davis's. No lines and not too scary before it got dark. The boys had a blast in their costumes!

Here are a "few" pics...BEWARE!

Kade did his pumpkin all by himself this year.
He had a lot of patience to cut out all of those teeth!

It's great to be 8!

Kade was baptized on June 4th. Although the water was freezing cold, he was ready. We are so proud of you, Kade, for making the choice to be baptized! Later that day, Kade, Cole, and Mark were bringing stuff in from the garage after our lunch at the park. Cole admires Kade. Following behind, Cole asks him, "Kade, do you have the Holy Ghost with you right now?" Kade simply answered, "Yes I do and so does Dad." I am so grateful for my family. I am grateful for my boys. Everyday I wonder how I got to be so lucky!

A little blast from the past....

Mark ~ Baptized June 22, 1987

Becky ~ Baptized January 30, 1988

After the baptism, we had Kade's most favorite lunch at the park...ribs, corn on the cob, strawberries, and watermelon. He loved every bit of it! Most of all, he loved being with his cousins on his special day!

Now a real smile Kade!

And, course a little football...

Preschool Graduation

Cole has learned so much in the last year. He has mastered everything he needs to know and more. Because of his devotion to the Sam books, he is reading well and loves it. We love Mrs. Jill and can't wait for Owen to be in her class in 2014. Yes, he is already signed up!

Here are just a few of the slideshows that were made of Cole with his preschool friends.

Cole's Birthday!!

No cake this year. He wanted "pirate men." Have you ever read the Christmas book, The Gingerbread Pirates? I couldn't put this book away with all the other Christmas books. Cole insisted it stay out. These pirate men come alive when you sleep!

I tried my best. It took all day to make dough....chill dough....roll out dough....cut out dough....cook dough....and frost dough! I thought I was getting away without having to do anything time consuming. I was wrong. Cole loved them! It was worth every minute! Because "pirate men" come alive when you sleep, Cole didn't want to eat them!

Pirate Names: Wavy, Dots, and Captain Cookie

Some of the "Crew"

There were 21 in all.
Happy Birthday Cole! We love you! We can't believe you are 5!

The Christmas Day "Look"

I got a picture of both of them opening one of their Santa presents! Kade's was a watch and Cole's was a pirate game (of course). They were stoked! We were just home this year. It was so relaxing and fun to do our own family thing Christmas Eve. We made cinnamon rolls, watched The Christmas Carol, and opened our family gifts to each other. After reading Luke 2, the kids were in bed at 9:20! Yes!! They slept until 7:30. Not bad. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year in a few days!!!

***********

When Owen watches the boys, he takes it all in. Hopefully he is learning how to be a good boy! This is what he will do lately while he watches. Check out his hands!

Dreams Really Do Come True!

We surprised the boys and drove to the airport Monday afternoon. Our suitcases were packed in the back with a blanket over the top. They had no idea! We were going to Disneyland! I love surprises!!

Here are more pictures.

Words cannot describe the excitement when Cole saw Hook!
It was the cutest thing to watch as Cole was in his own little world.
His dream to one day meet Captain Hook came true.
He LOVES Hook!!

Kade was the enemy!

Thanks CDI!
