A Pet

We now have a pet!  A praying mantis.  They are the meanest insect I know and I have 3 boys that like him.  His name is Lloyd.  Kade, Cole, and our friend and neighbor, Jake, collect all sorts of insects to feed him. The praying mantis wins the battle every time.  No, I have never watched-but have heard all of the gross detail while telling them not to explain any further.  Lloyd lives in a shoebox with sticks, grass, plastic wrap for a see-through cover, and a lid to close him off so I can't see in. Perfect.  Here are some pics.

Walk to School Day

This morning was walk to school day for "Spirit" week.  We had fun with our neighbors even though it was super cold.

Spud Day

On Friday we drove up to Idaho for Purser Family pictures.  Glad we got them done and glad they are over.  Owen got stung by a bee during the middle.  I was so grateful he was super tough and we could finish out our pics.  What a trooper!  Can't wait to see them.  While we were there, it was Spud Day in Shelley.  Mark and I have been married for 12 years this year, but this was my first experience witnessing the "Spud Tug."  This is a tug of war over a pit of mashed potatoes.  The pit is filled with a cement truck of instant potatoes churning inside.  So nasty yet a tradition that has been going for 20 years.

Cole loved helping dad and grandpa with the second green house grandpa has been working on.  He was the tool getter.

Flag Football

We are in full swing of sports.  We have three to four games a week and all the practicing that goes with it.  Kade started flag football and is on a team of 5th and 6th graders.  Way to hustle and run in between some of those big guys.  The games start at 8 o'clock at night on Tuesdays so I guess that means breaking up the nightly routines.  The boys are happy to stay up later that's for sure.

School Carnival

Tonight was the annual school carnival.  The boys look forward to the dunk tank where they get to dunk their teachers, speed throw baseball with Sheriff Lloyd at the radar, rocket shooting, face painting, hair color spray, and many more.  Go Lindon Leopards!

Fall Soccer

Cole and Owen are both playing soccer this year.  This means two games every Saturday and practices during the week.  Today their games were back to back at two different schools.  I was grateful that Mark was able to get Cole to his game in the middle of Owen's game.  With a few sunburns, the afternoon ended with a crazy storm burst with awesome black clouds.  Definitely glad we played earlier in the day.  Kade starts flag football in a few weeks.  Bring it on!

Owlz

I have grown to love sports through my boys.  Tonight we went to an Orem Owlz baseball game.  They lost, but we had fun cheering them on with our owl hoots and all.

Final score:  Orem Owlz-6  Idaho Falls Chuckars-9
